Okie-Tex Star Party

The Okie-Tex Star Party for 2021 is tentatively scheduled for October 1-9, 2021. Registration was expected to open around March 1, 2021. However, in view of the COVID situation, we are still reviewing our protocols. We hope to open pre-registration some time between April 1 and May 1.

Hennessey Wine & Chocolate Festival 2021

Spend an afternoon in Hennessey on October 16 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm in beautiful Memorial Park on Main Street in Hennessey. Admission is $20 and includes a wine glass and wine & chocolate sampling by several vendors. Some will offer bottles you can purchase & take home with you. Okeene Chamber is hosting a downtown trick or treating event on Main Street. They will have 2 bounce houses, tractor rides and an area to check out some of our fire trucks, police cars and possibly some other vehicles. Pop’s Ice will be downtown as well that afternoon. We would like to kick off our Bedlam Food Drive that day! Bring a nonperishable food item to donate and enjoy FREE tractor rides and the bounce houses. We are looking forward to this event and we hope you are too!

"Johnny Appleseed" - Missoula Children's Theatre Workshop

Step back in time and experience life on the Cherokee Strip during History Alive! in the Humphrey Heritage Village. On the first and third Saturday of each month, the historic buildings in the Village come alive with reenactors who are tending their shops, working their trades, or socializing at the Village Church. Visitors can learn about different skills and trades of the time, or file their own land claim in the Land Office. The Village will be Alive! from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Cornbread Make & Take Workshop @ History Alive!

Make & Take Workshop! Shell it. Grind it. Sift it. Mix it. Whisk it. Pour it. Bake, and serve it! At History Alive! on the Cherokee Strip on Saturday, February 19. Make cornbread from a heritage recipe, shell the corn from the cob, grind it down to cornmeal, and prepare the ingredients in your own personal skillet for you to take home, bake, and serve! Travel Bag Workshop

Join us at the Chisholm Trail Museum for our Historical Travel Bag Workshop March 5. Participants will create a period travel bag under the guidance of Marna Davis, the Domestic Lady’s Dressmaker. The bag is fashioned after measurements from an original from Augusta Auctions. The style is found repeatedly in period fashion magazines and Butterick catalogs from the 1870s through the 1890s with virtually no change. The cost for the class is $75 and all materials and lunch are provided.

Chuck Wagon Gathering

See a variety of working chuck wagons from across the region as the cooks prepare some of their favorite dishes. Activities include live music, cooking demonstrations, gunfights, Wild West Show performers, and more. Tickets for the delicious chuck wagon meal at noon are just $15.
