Thrift Style Exhibit @ The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritiage Center

This exhibition offers a snapshot of domestic life during this time, when recycling was as critical as it is today, and it provides one of the best examples of upcycling in our nation’s history. Thrift Style explores the reuse of feed sacks to make clothing and other household objects and illuminates how the “upcycling” of these bags mutually benefitted twentieth-century consumers and businesses. Exhibi features forty-one works from patterns to garments.

Okie-Tex Star Party

The Okie-Tex Star Party for 2021 is tentatively scheduled for October 1-9, 2021. Registration was expected to open around March 1, 2021. However, in view of the COVID situation, we are still reviewing our protocols. We hope to open pre-registration some time between April 1 and May 1.

Barn Quilt Painting Luncheon

Barn Quilt Painting and Luncheon at the Railroad Museum of Oklahoma, located at 702 N. Washington Street in Enid. Enjoy painting your own 2" x 2" Barn Quilt Pattern that you can take home with you. Lunch will be provided. For additional information and to make your reservation call Edna at 580-233-3051. The class will be instructed by Joy of the Garfield County OSU Extension Center. She will tell the history of the Barn Quilts around the country and help you create your own masterpiece.

Step back in time and experience life on the Cherokee Strip during History Alive! in the Humphrey Heritage Village. On the first and third Saturday of each month, the historic buildings in the Village come alive with reenactors who are tending their shops, working their trades, or socializing at the Village Church. Visitors can learn about different skills and trades of the time, or file their own land claim in the Land Office. The Village will be Alive! from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Hennessey Wine & Chocolate Festival 2021

On Friday, October 22th, 2021, we are pleased to bring you Riley Jantzen. Riley Jantzen is a songwriter from Enid, Oklahoma. Originally raised on a ranch twelve miles southeast of Okeene, Oklahoma, Riley discovered at a young age that he saw the world differently than many of his peers. Surrounded by small-town football pride and country music he rebelliously dove deep into skateboard culture and punk rock. With the rebellion of his teenage years far behind him, this contrast is now celebrated.

We would like to kick off our Bedlam Food Drive that day! Bring a nonperishable food item to donate and enjoy FREE tractor rides and the bounce houses.
