Cherokee Strip Celebration

September 16 @ 9:00 am

One hundred thirty-three years to the day we will celebrate! At precisely 12 o’clock noon on September 16, 1893, the Cherokee outlet opened to the boom of a cannon. An estimated 100,000 people made their way into the territory by horse, wagon, train and on foot in the fourth and largest land run of Oklahoma’s five land runs. We annually commemorate Enid’s unique heritage and continued growth with the Cherokee Strip Celebration. Plans for Saturday, September 16, 2023 include the parade at 10:30 a.m. along with the Cherokee Strip Festival featuring food and vendor booths, live entertainment and much more!
