Travel Bag Workshop

Join us at the Chisholm Trail Museum for our Historical Travel Bag Workshop March 5. Participants will create a period travel bag under the guidance of Marna Davis, the Domestic Lady’s Dressmaker. The bag is fashioned after measurements from an original from Augusta Auctions. The style is found repeatedly in period fashion magazines and Butterick catalogs from the 1870s through the 1890s with virtually no change. The cost for the class is $75 and all materials and lunch are provided.

Activities include live music, cooking demonstrations, gunfights, Wild West Show performers, and more.
Tickets for the delicious chuck wagon meal at noon are just $15.

This year’s recipient is Paceyn Nicole Hiatt. Paceyn has a gene mutation called SCN1A which causes her to have seizures and hard to treat epilepsy. This has been happening since she was 3 months old and she is now 2 years. She has had multiple seizures now, some of which were bad enough that she had to be intubated and life flighted to the hospital.

Join us at the Chisholm Trail Museum on June 11 for our summer Barn Quilt Workshop. Barn quilts, which are square-shaped boards painted to resemble a quilt block and are placed on any structure, have evolved into a rural development initiative to boost tourism in communities. OSU Extension Educator Lindy Hoel will lead the workshop where each participant will complete their very own Barn Quilt to proudly display at home. Registration is $40 and includes lunch.
