On the first and third Saturday of each month, the historic buildings in the Village come alive with reenactors who are tending their shops, working their trades, or socializing at the Village Church. Visitors can learn about different skills and trades of the time, or file their own land claim in the Land Office. The Village will be Alive! from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Okeene Germanfest has been an annual event. The Okeene Germanfest celebrates the rich German heritage of many early settlers in the Okeene area—especially Germans from Russia. It features authentic, home-made German food, a variety of German beers, games, contests and good family fun. Okeene Germanfest - German Food Bake-Off Contest Bierox & Dessert Saturday, September 24, @ 6pm No Entry Fee - Bake-Off Champion crowned in each category $100 cash prize & award Entries must be checked-in by 5:30 Provide 13 (a baker's dozen} of each entry (except cakes/pies) All entries become the property of Okeene Historical Preservation Group to be auctioned after the judging. The exhibit, Imprinting the West: Manifest Destiny, Real and Imagined is on exhibit at the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center through March 16, 2023. Open Tues-Sat from 8am-5pm daily. Westward expansion was one of the most transformational elements in American life throughout the nineteenth century. Printed imagery played an important role in the dissemination of knowledge and understanding about the West and those who inhabited it.
