Freedom Oklahoma
Freedom is known as the smallest certified city (as opposed to a town) in Oklahoma. Alabaster Caverns State Park, just south of Freedom, is the world’s largest Gypsum Caverns open to the public. The more adventurous can go spelunking throughout the cave system; however, for the more down-to-earth visitor a network of stairs, handrails and well-carved pathways allow you to experience the magnificence and majesty of this cave system.
In Freedom you can explore the Freedom Museum and the Cimarron Cowboys monument in City Park. Take your picture in front of the Freedom Jail. Don’t miss the Freedom Rodeo & Old Cowhand event. If you are looking for lodging, “The Stables” is a great get-away location. It is located at the entrance of the Alabaster Caverns State Park and is home to Jerry Nelson’s Frontier Rodeo Co
