The lake has two boat ramps, good picnic and camping facilities and state park cabins. A winter trout fishery along with good populations of largemouth bass, flathead catfish, walleye and smallmouth bass are present.

Driving Directions: From Boise City – 16 miles west on State Hwy 325, 4 miles north on State Hwy 325, 4.5 miles west on E0132 at sign for Black Mesa State Park, 1 mile north on N0080, ½ mile west on E0120.

Location: Located in Black Mesa State Park, 26 miles northwest of Boise City in Cimarron County. Vegetation around the lake is pinon-juniper-mesa type. (S5&6,T4N,R2E).

Lake History: Lake Etling was constructed by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation in 1958.
