Travel Bag Workshop

Mar 5
Join us at the Chisholm Trail Museum for our Historical Travel Bag Workshop March 5. Participants will create a period travel bag under the guidance of Marna Davis, the Domestic Lady’s Dressmaker. The bag is fashioned after measurements from an original from Augusta Auctions. The style is found repeatedly in period fashion magazines and Butterick catalogs from the 1870s through the 1890s with virtually no change. The cost for the class is $75 and all materials and lunch are provided.

Chuck Wagon Gathering

Mar 19
See a variety of working chuck wagons from across the region as the cooks prepare some of their favorite dishes. Activities include live music, cooking demonstrations, gunfights, Wild West Show performers, and more. Tickets for the delicious chuck wagon meal at noon are just $15. Please contact the museum at 405-375-5176 to purchase meal tickets. The daytime activities are free.

Barn Quilt Workshop

Jun 11
Join us at the Chisholm Trail Museum on June 11 for our summer Barn Quilt Workshop. Barn quilts, which are square-shaped boards painted to resemble a quilt block and are placed on any structure, have evolved into a rural development initiative to boost tourism in communities. OSU Extension Educator Lindy Hoel will lead the workshop where each participant will complete their very own Barn Quilt to proudly display at home. Registration is $40 and includes lunch.
